Senior Instrumentation Engineer – Process & Piping

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join AECOM’s Water and Wastewater practice in Mumbai. The role will focus on design, implementation and commissioning of instrumentation, control and SCADA systems for water, wastewater and desalination projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design reports, specifications, drawings and client deliverables for instrumentation, control and SCADA systems.
• Specify instruments, controllers, servers, ancillary equipment and application software.
• Define interface requirements for process valves, adjustable frequency drives and packaged systems.
• Program and modify PLCs and HMIs, and create associated application documentation.
• Coordinate SCADA requirements with civil, structural, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and electrical disciplines during design.
• Support construction, commissioning, start‑up and close‑out activities, including issue resolution with contractors.
• Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians and produce high‑quality technical documentation in English.

Required profile

• B.E. or M.Tech. in Instrumentation & Control (preferred) from a recognized university.
• Professional registration or active pursuit of registration in the home country.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
