Senior Frontend Software Engineer

About the role

Atlassian is seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to maintain and evolve its web frontend systems and tools, delivering great experiences to users of products such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket. You will join a unified R&D team focused on cloud migration and core product innovation, working in an environment that encourages autonomy and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Build high‑performing client code that is fast, testable, scalable, and of high quality.
• Drive strong collaboration with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user pain points and iterate on solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and resolve complex bugs.
• Lead projects from technical design through implementation, launch, and ongoing operation.
• Onboard and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript (ES6), HTML5, CSS and modern frameworks such as React, AngularJS or Vue.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of the modern frontend ecosystem, including bundling, linting, testing and release processes.
• Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai) and Agile development methodologies.
• Proven ability to build frontend applications at scale and mentor junior engineers.
