Senior Engineer – Plumbing, HVAC & Fire (MEP)

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design of plumbing, heating, ventilation, and fire‑protection systems for large‑scale projects such as data centres and healthcare facilities. The role involves delivering high‑quality MEP solutions while adhering to international codes and client schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and correlate engineering data using established procedures.
• Perform detailed calculations, design drawings, and quality‑control reviews for plumbing and fire‑protection systems.
• Propose innovative solutions to new technical challenges.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to entry‑level engineers.
• Manage design tasks independently within budget and schedule constraints.

Required profile

• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with 6‑10 years of experience in GDC‑type environments.
• Experience on retail, hospitality, data‑center, or healthcare projects across multiple geographies (Middle East, USA, Canada, ANZ).
• Familiarity with ASHRAe, CIBSE, NFPA, ME codes and International Plumbing Codes.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.

Required skills

• Design of plumbing and fire‑fighting systems.
• Proficiency with Revit for MEP modeling.
• Knowledge of NFPA, ME codes, IPC and other international standards.
• Experience with energy‑modeling tools such as eQUEST, EnergyPlus or IES‑VE.
