Senior Design Engineer – COE Pumps

About the role

Metso is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join the Centre of Excellence (COE) for pumps in Alwar, India. You will be responsible for customizing pump designs for customer orders, supporting quotations, and providing technical assistance to manufacturing and global COE teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models using Inventor and generate manufacturing drawings based on standard designs and calculations.
• Produce General Arrangement drawings for customers and maintain all drawings in Teamcenter.
• Assist with assembly issues, part‑number creation, and basic strength evaluations.
• Conduct documented product safety reviews as part of the daily design process.
• Develop new design solutions, participate in design reviews, and identify required design changes from production, quality, and procurement inputs.
• Collaborate with Application & Sales, Quality, Procurement, and Production units globally.
• Lead or contribute to project teams and handle miscellaneous or special projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6‑8 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably with centrifugal pumps or similar rotating equipment.
• Proven experience with 2D drafting and 3D CAD modelling tools.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with a focus on efficient order execution.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest safety culture and standards.
