Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join its AI Innovation at Scale team in India. You will work on large‑scale data platforms, collaborate closely with data science and governance teams, and help turn advanced models into reliable production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines that integrate multiple sources for a unified merchant registry and trust profile.
• Work with big‑data technologies such as Databricks and Apache Spark at petabyte scale.
• Partner with Data Science teams to scale models, features, and experiments into production.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code for robust, production‑grade solutions.
• Design and evolve entity‑centric data models for merchant identity resolution.
• Automate and monitor data workflows in distributed environments, improving reliability and efficiency.
• Analyze and optimise ETL/ELT processes to support high‑performance data access.
• Implement testing frameworks and monitoring capabilities for continuous improvement.
• Support incident response, debugging, and performance tuning of AI/ML systems.
