Senior Counsel – EMEA Legal

About the role

Worley is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join its EMEA Legal team. You will provide strategic legal and contractual guidance across the region, supporting complex engineering and construction projects while mentoring junior lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal and contracting strategies for the EMEA region.
• Lead or contribute to cross‑functional projects, shaping policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Provide nuanced advice to senior management on commercial, contractual, and regulatory matters.
• Mentor and coach junior attorneys, fostering professional development.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, regional generalist lawyers, and Centre of Excellence teams to manage legal risk.
• Handle routine legal matters and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Support opportunity‑stage projects by advising capture and execution teams, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Participate in practice‑area working groups and promote a collaborative, solutions‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of relevant experience in commercial and contract law, preferably within engineering, EPC, or EPCM services.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring junior lawyers and leading cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
