Senior Buyer – Procurement

About the role

The Senior Buyer will lead the procurement of critical items for manufacturing sites, ensuring technical specifications match user requirements and vendor offers. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and supporting audit compliance within a dynamic production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Validate technical requirements against vendor specifications for critical items.
• Conduct second‑round negotiations and present outcomes to the buying manager for final approval.
• Identify and evaluate alternate vendors to optimize cost and supply continuity.
• Issue purchase orders and record transactions accurately in the SAP system.
• Handle procurement for specific items across all or selected manufacturing sites, or manage category‑based purchases for projects.
• Respond promptly to internal and external audit queries related to procurement activities.
• Support fellow buyers in resolving audit and compliance issues.

Required profile

• B.Tech or B.E. degree.
• 6–9 years of experience in category sourcing and manufacturing procurement.
• Experience with category‑based purchasing and supply management in a plant environment is desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset and commercial acumen.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP for purchase order processing.
