Senior Buyer – Procurement

About the role

The Senior Buyer will manage procurement for critical items across manufacturing sites, ensuring technical specifications match user requirements and vendor offers. This role involves negotiating with vendors, finalizing purchases, and maintaining accurate records in SAP.

Key responsibilities

• Float enquiries for critical items based on user needs.
• Validate and approve technical requirements from users against vendor specifications.
• Conduct second‑round negotiations and present recommendations to the buying manager.
• Finalize orders, enter transactions in SAP, and ensure timely delivery.
• Address internal and external audit issues related to procurement.
• Support other buyers in resolving procurement challenges.

Required profile

• B.Tech or B.E. degree.
• 6–9 years of experience in category‑based sourcing and manufacturing procurement.
• Proven experience in supply management within a plant operations environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP procurement modules.
• Strong analytical mindset.
• Good written and oral communication.
• Knowledge of equipment, process, and maintenance activities.
• Commercial acumen.
