Senior Business Analyst – AVP (Payments)

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Senior Business Analyst at AVP level to join its Payments division in Bengaluru. The role focuses on delivering end‑to‑end payment projects, working closely with senior stakeholders and technology teams to ensure safe, resilient and compliant change.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define clear, end‑to‑end requirements for payment initiatives.
• Translate complex payment flows, regulatory obligations and scheme rules into user stories, process designs and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct payment‑flow analysis and impact assessments across multiple systems.
• Work within Agile squads, partnering with Product Owners and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Ensure requirements are testable, supportable and traceable from inception through release and operational readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the Banking and Payments domain.
• Strong knowledge of domestic payment systems such as NPP, RTGS, SWIFT, Direct Entry, BPAY, cross‑border payments and ISO20022.
• Demonstrated ability in requirements elicitation, process mapping, user‑story creation and defining acceptance criteria.
• Experience with end‑to‑end payment flow analysis and impact assessments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Exposure to regulatory, compliance and payment transformation programmes is a plus.
