Senior Backend Engineer – Semantic Web & Knowledge Graph

About the role

Join Bosch's global engineering team as a Senior Backend Engineer focused on Semantic Web technologies and Knowledge Graphs. You will build the data backbone that connects tools such as Jira, Codebeamer, and Splunk into a unified, intelligent system.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python for the "Elefanto" knowledge‑graph platform.
• Engineer high‑performance data pipelines with Apache Kafka, ensuring reliable real‑time data flow.
• Create sophisticated data models, mappings, and APIs using SPARQL, GraphQL, and RML.
• Collaborate daily with the development team in Germany and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in peer code reviews and take end‑to‑end ownership of code quality, maintenance, and support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proven ability to work in a globally distributed, agile environment.
