Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

About the role

Sonatype is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and scale its engineering platform on Azure. You will lead infrastructure and CI/CD modernization, improve reliability and security, and mentor engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve Azure‑based infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Build and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps Pipelines for applications, infrastructure, and platform workloads.
• Administer Azure DevOps services including Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, Boards, and service connections.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve build, release, and deployment workflows for microservices and cloud‑native applications.
• Implement observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Strengthen platform security through secrets management, policy enforcement, vulnerability scanning, and least‑privilege access controls.
• Manage containerized environments with Kubernetes, Helm, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Drive reliability engineering practices such as incident response, root‑cause analysis, SLO thinking, and automated remediation.
• Standardize reusable templates, modules, and platform patterns to boost developer productivity.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on Azure architecture, deployment automation, release governance, and DevSecOps.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE roles supporting modern software delivery.
• Deep hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure services (compute, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, security).
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline design for multiple application stacks.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
• Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and secure software delivery practices.
