Senior Associate – Taxation (Australian Tax Compliance)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Associate to lead Australian tax compliance, investor reporting and tax documentation for our clients. The role works closely with cross‑functional teams, external advisors and fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and review Australian Federal and State tax filings, ensuring timely disclosures.
• Calculate and file quarterly estimated tax payments and maintain supporting workpapers.
• Assist with tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and audit footnote documentation.
• Monitor ATO exemption eligibility and manage related correspondence.
• Prepare equity playbooks, tax memos and support tax‑efficient deal structuring.
• Prepare and update Australian tax forms (TFN, NAT 660, NAT 0659, NAT 71121) and manage PAYG withholding rules.
• Integrate tax terms into legal platforms such as Ontra and maintain compliance checkpoints.
• Serve as primary contact for client tax communications and manage document uploads.
• Reconcile investor and entity data across internal and external systems.
• Request, track and manage PFIC statements for relevant entities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Australian taxation, preferably in tax compliance or advisory firms.
• Strong knowledge of partnership, individual, trust taxation and investment‑fund structures (FoFs, private equity, credit).
• Hands‑on experience with Australian withholding tax rules and exemption certifications.
• Familiarity with tax compliance software and research tools.
• CA or CPA Australia qualification preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, with ability to work under tight deadlines.
