Senior AI Engineer (Founding) – Bengaluru

About the role

We are looking for a founding Senior AI Engineer to lead the development of the intelligence layer of Figr’s AI product agent. Based in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, you will shape the AI strategy, architecture and technical roadmap for a platform that turns product intent into production‑ready outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end AI layer, from design to production, across the product.
• Build systems that inject deep product context into AI agents.
• Design and improve retrieval, memory, reasoning and RAG pipelines.
• Optimize model performance, latency, reliability and cost through routing, caching and token management.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for subjective AI workflows and monitor production AI systems.
• Collaborate directly with the CTO on product and technical decisions.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python expertise.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI agents for real users.
• Background as an early or founding engineer in a startup is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑ownership environment.
