Senior Accountant – Statutory Centre of Excellence

About the role

Join Mastercard's Statutory Centre of Excellence to lead global statutory reporting and manage a team of finance professionals supporting external audits worldwide. This senior position requires strong technical accounting expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to drive projects to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex accounting activities, including sub‑ledger accounting and high‑level financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations and reporting standards.
• Analyze financial performance, exercise judgment on complex issues, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Support SOX compliance, control improvements, and process enhancements.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external auditors and act as a business partner.
• Research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance such as GAAP, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, AMCA, ACCA) with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience managing components of larger projects and delivering presentations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and reporting requirements.
• Experience reviewing work for appropriate accounting treatment and suggesting process improvements.
• Ability to build proactive relationships with business partners across units and markets.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Statutory reporting experience with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Oracle/Hyperion proficiency (beneficial).
