Security - APL Fuel Management

About the role

We are seeking a Security professional to oversee fuel management operations, ensuring the safe receipt, storage, handling and consumption of fuel in accordance with approved procedures. The role involves supervising weighbridge activities, monitoring fuel issuance to generation units and enforcing strict security protocols across fuel yards and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor fuel receipt, storage, handling and consumption following approved procedures.
• Supervise weighbridge operations, fuel unloading/loading and issuance to generation units.
• Track daily fuel stock levels, burn rates and plant heat rate performance.
• Ensure accurate fuel reconciliation between received, consumed and closing stock.
• Verify fuel quality against technical and contractual specifications.
• Implement and enforce fuel security protocols to prevent theft, pilferage, adulteration or unauthorized use.
• Supervise security personnel at fuel yards, storage tanks, conveyors, pipelines and fuel dumps.
• Monitor CCTV systems, access control and surveillance in fuel handling areas.
• Conduct routine inspections and surprise audits of storage and transfer points.
• Investigate and report fuel losses, discrepancies or security incidents.

Required profile

• Graduate degree with computer knowledge.
• Minimum five years’ experience in logistic security.
