Secondary Design Engineer – Gas Insulated Switchgear

About the role

You will join the GIS LCC Secondary team to create and support electrical circuit diagrams for high‑voltage gas insulated switchgear (66 kV and above). Working as an individual contributor, you will deliver schematics, BOMs and related documents while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare LCC schematics for GIS components such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, CT & VT.
• Generate JB drawings, AC/DC load calculations and interlocking tables for various busbar configurations.
• Address technical queries from customers and coordinate with Primary, Project Management and Production teams.
• Produce preliminary BOMs, mimic boards, communication architecture diagrams and protection schematics.
• Develop complete digital LCC drawings for digital substations, including NCITs, MU’s and SAM600 modules.
• Perform cable sizing calculations and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in electrical & electronics engineering (B.E. or Diploma).
• Good knowledge of protection and control systems for transmission, distribution or generation.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
• Basic understanding of GIS technology.
• Ability to work on multi‑discipline projects and maintain professionalism.

Required skills

• CAD tools (experience with E3 preferred).
• Protection & Control Systems expertise.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Basic GIS knowledge.
