Residential Construction Manager

About the role

The Residential Construction Manager will lead all on‑site construction activities for Gradiant’s projects in Chennai, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring that work meets contractual, technical, quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for site construction, supervising multidisciplinary teams and ensuring efficient execution.
• Conduct regular site reviews, evaluate contractor performance and hold weekly review meetings to track progress and resolve bottlenecks.
• Serve as the primary interface with the client, maintaining effective communication, participating in client meetings and ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
• Review and interpret contract documentation, manage billing processes, reconcile contractor and client bills, and oversee final contract closure.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, company HSE policies and client‑specific safety protocols, and promote labor welfare.
• Oversee HR and statutory compliance activities in accordance with client requirements and legal regulations.
• Coordinate material reconciliation, identify surplus materials and work with head‑office for redistribution.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead site construction activities and supervise multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors and head‑office teams.
• Strong understanding of contract administration, billing and financial tracking for construction projects.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, HSE policies and statutory compliance in a construction environment.
• Ability to conduct regular site reviews, evaluate contractor performance and manage progress meetings.
