Resident Medical Officer – Paediatrics

About the role

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) will provide comprehensive medical care to neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients within the Paediatrics Department. Working in OPD, IPD and emergency services, the RMO will operate under the supervision of senior pediatric consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and initiate treatment for neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients in OPD, IPD and emergency settings.
• Manage pediatric and neonatal emergencies following hospital protocols.
• Perform routine clinical procedures and assist consultants with pediatric procedures.
• Order, interpret diagnostic investigations and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Counsel parents and caregivers on treatment, immunization, nutrition, growth and follow‑up care.
• Maintain accurate medical records, participate in ward rounds, rotational shifts, night duties and on‑call responsibilities.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety standards and contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a reputable multispecialty hospital.
• Ability to work under supervision of pediatric consultants and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control and continuous medical education.
