Resident Engineer - Mechanical

About the role

Assystem is seeking a Resident Engineer – Mechanical to lead the mechanical design, installation, testing and commissioning of sewage treatment plant projects in Mumbai. The role involves supervising on‑site activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and driving project progress.

Key responsibilities

• Review Mechanical General Arrangement Drawings (GAD), technical specifications, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and data sheets.
• Supervise equipment installation, testing and commissioning for sewage treatment plants (STP) in accordance with approved QAP.
• Conduct factory inspection, testing and clearance as per approved QAP.
• Oversee installation of cranes, stainless steel (SS) and mild steel (MS) piping, gates, valves, pumps, screens and other process and non‑process equipment for STP.
• Apply knowledge of sludge treatment, digesters and gas engines during project execution.
• Lead review meetings with contractors and internal teams.
• Certify contractor bills against the approved billing breakup.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and update project documentation.
• Review and supervise mechanical works at pump stations, treatment plants and related water/sewage facilities.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical.
• At least 15 years of design experience in mechanical discipline for sewerage and water supply projects.
• Total professional experience of 20 years.
• Experience on a minimum of two STPs with capacity of at least 50 MLD each.
• Immediate joining preferred.
