Resident cum Highway Engineer

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Resident cum Highway Engineer to provide technical supervision and engineering guidance for highway and bridge construction projects in Uttar Pradesh. The role ensures quality, safety and compliance throughout all phases of development while coordinating with contractors, clients and design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities including earthwork, pavement, drainage, road safety features, interchanges and associated highway structures.
• Monitor contractor work programmes, construction methodology, quality control procedures and progress to ensure timely completion.
• Review and verify designs, drawings, method statements, material submissions and test results submitted by the contractor.
• Ensure compliance with MoRTH/NHAI specifications, IRC codes, BIS standards and contractual requirements.
• Oversee construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of major bridges and related structures.

Required profile

• Graduate in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in highway projects, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience handling at least two major highway projects (40%+ of project length, 4/6/8‑lane configuration).
• Post‑graduate degree or specialized training in transportation, highway, structural or geotechnical engineering is preferred.
