Regular Quality Engineer - Functional Testing & Automation (Networking)

About the role

DXC Luxoft is hiring a Regular Quality Engineer in Bengaluru for product verification and testing of data center routing and switching platforms, for a major enterprise networking equipment provider. The role works closely with development engineering, product management and customer solution engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Test and validate feature functionality and system test profiles for data center networks, network security and routing technologies.
• Develop test strategy, test topology and test plan to validate features end-to-end at scale, with network security considerations.
• Understand customer deployments and solutions, then execute test cases, validate features and document results on interoperability and deployment scenarios.
• Translate software requirements into high-quality test automation suites and debug complex issues with the engineering team until fixes are validated.
• Build automation for end-to-end solution validation and review customer deployments and issues to close gaps in test coverage.
• Take part in customer deployments and escalations and help customers deploy the client's solutions in their environment.

Required profile

• Minimum B.S./B.E./B.Tech in CS, EE, ECE or IT.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience in networking, telecom embedded or network management, with hands-on functional, system and automation testing.
• Proven knowledge of data center network platforms, IP fabric, VxLAN, EVPN and network virtualization frameworks.
• Knowledge of network security and routing protocols (MPLS, ISIS, BGP, Multicast).
• Experience planning and building large-scale system test topologies and writing solution validation documents and test reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Test automation tools and virtualization platforms such as Spirent, IXIA, VMware (vCenter, NSX), OpenStack and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, KVM)
• Test automation suites built with Python or a similar scripting language
• Nice to have: experience with test automation frameworks
