R&D Design Engineer – Sanitary Fittings

About the role

As an R&D Design Engineer on our international team, you will play a key role in the product development of high‑quality sanitary fittings. We are looking for an innovative and analytical engineer who excels at transforming concepts into functional, cost‑effective, and high‑performance products. You will take ownership of the design and dimensioning of components and assemblies, ensuring seamless integration, technical feasibility, and alignment with project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the design and development of innovative components and assemblies specifically for sanitary fittings.
• Execute the constructive design of parts while strictly considering design aesthetics, functional requirements, cost efficiency, and installation/assembly constraints.
• Develop innovative and creative concepts for new components and assemblies to drive product evolution.
• Execute and maintain SAP master data, such as Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECN), Material Master Data management, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure all designs are completed in a timely manner, meet all functional specifications, and fit perfectly within the intended product architecture.
• Perform manual or tool‑assisted engineering calculations to dimension components (e.g., verifying strength, stiffness and masses).
• Align closely with global R&D teams.

Required profile

• Professional experience in mechanical design, product development, or engineering operations within a manufacturing or R&D environment, preferably in the sanitary or fluid‑handling industry.
• Strong expertise in constructive design of complex components, with deep understanding of manufacturing constraints, material properties, and cost‑to‑design principles.
• Proficiency in mechanical dimensioning, structural calculations, and simulations (strength, stiffness, mass) using manual methods or relevant engineering software.
• Solid experience with modern CAD systems (e.g., SolidEdge or Creo) and advanced R&D workflows, CAE, or simulation tools.
• Expertise in SAP ERP, specifically Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECN), Material Master Data management, and Bill of Materials structures.
• Results‑driven mindset with commitment to meeting project deadlines, functional requirements, and high quality standards.
• High‑level English proficiency and strong communication skills for effective collaboration with local and global teams.
