Quality Specialist II – Marine Products

About the role

The Quality Specialist II ensures that marine‑related products and systems manufactured by Nikkiso meet the highest standards of quality, safety and regulatory compliance. Working within the Integrated Management System, the role supports continuous improvement and serves as a technical mentor for the department.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that marine products comply with customer, class society and regulatory requirements.
• Review inspection and test records, identify non‑conformances and issue NCR documentation.
• Perform incoming inspection of raw materials and stage inspection of pressure vessels and piping skids.
• Conduct visual welding inspections, calibration of measuring instruments, pressure testing, helium & vacuum testing, and blasting & painting inspections.
• Maintain and report the performance of the Integrated Management System, including measurement, monitoring, analysis and evaluation.
• Approve compliant products, reject or hold non‑conforming items, and request corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor colleagues.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or BE Mechanical.
• 1‑5 years (BE) or 3‑7 years (Diploma) of experience in quality engineering, preferably in marine or industrial gas sectors.
• Strong understanding of Marine Class rules, regulations and product specifications.
• Ability to review and interpret technical documentation and inspection records.

Required skills

• Inspection and testing of marine pressure vessels and piping.
• Calibration of measurement instruments.
• Pressure testing, helium and vacuum testing.
• Visual welding inspection and blasting & painting inspection.
• Non‑conformance reporting (NCR) and corrective action management.
• Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Marine Class Society requirements.
