Quality Assurance Officer – Contract Manufacturing (India)

About the role
The Quality Assurance Officer will ensure that Herbalife’s products manufactured at a contract site in India meet all internal quality standards as well as regulatory requirements. You will act as the primary liaison between Herbalife and the contract manufacturer, driving compliance, continuous improvement, and product safety.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor manufacturing processes on a scheduled basis to verify adherence to Herbalife quality procedures.
- Conduct periodic facility audits and support the contract manufacturer in meeting Herbalife, Ministry of Ayush, Ayurveda, and FSSAI GMP standards.
- Coordinate with the contract manufacturer on product changes, complaint handling, root‑cause analysis (RCA) and corrective‑preventive actions (CAPA).
- Provide troubleshooting support for raw material, packaging, and process quality issues and lead defect‑elimination initiatives.
- Deliver regular training on updated quality requirements and procedures.
- Verify documentation and grant dispatch approvals for all batches before shipment.
- Prepare MIS reports and share periodic performance data with the QA team.
- Support validation of new products and participate in cross‑functional improvement projects.
- Perform testing of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods, and investigate out‑of‑specification (OOS) results.
Required profile
- Graduation or post‑graduation in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemical Technology, Pharmacy or a related field.
- 5‑7 years of experience in nutraceutical, Ayurveda or pharmaceutical quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of FSSAI regulations and GMP guidelines.
- Hands‑on experience with quality and food‑safety management systems (HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000).
- Proficiency in basic QC processes such as calibration, OOS/OOT handling, sampling and relevant test procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
