QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical & Process (HP/UHP Systems)

About the role
We are seeking a QA/QC Engineer specialized in Mechanical & Process to lead quality assurance for high‑purity (HP) and ultra‑high‑purity (UHP) piping systems on a large‑scale advanced manufacturing project. The role combines hands‑on oversight of orbital welding, cleanroom construction, and process piping quality control.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure quality of HP/UHP piping systems including UPW, CDA, nitrogen, specialty gases, and chemical lines.
- Monitor fabrication, erection, and installation activities on‑site.
- Conduct pre‑fabrication audits and verify material traceability (MTC, heat numbers, ASTM compliance).
- Oversee orbital welding operations, including welder/operator qualification, purging/back‑purging protocols, and weld inspection documentation.
- Review and approve ITPs, WPS/PQR, and welding records.
- Witness and validate hydro‑static, pneumatic, and helium leak testing, as well as system flushing and cleanliness checks.
- Enforce cleanroom protocols for contamination control, material handling, and surface protection.
- Manage NCRs, drive root‑cause analysis, and ensure timely closure.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain quality compliance.
- Prepare inspection reports, quality dashboards, and management presentations.
- Support commissioning activities and system handover milestones.
Required profile
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering.
- 8–15 years of QA/QC experience on mechanical or process systems.
- Hands‑on experience with HP/UHP piping (UPW, gases, chemicals).
- Strong knowledge of ASME, SEMI and AWS standards.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings and process layouts.
Required skills
- Orbital welding and GTAW (SS 316L) expertise.
- Purging protocols and oxygen control.
- Cleanroom construction and contamination control practices.
- Material traceability (MTC, heat numbers, ASTM compliance).
- Hydro‑static, pneumatic and helium leak testing.
- System flushing and cleanliness verification.
- Non‑conformance report (NCR) management and root‑cause analysis.
- Reading P&IDs, isometric drawings, and process layouts.
- Familiarity with ASME, SEMI and AWS standards.
