QA Specialist – Power BI & Microsoft Fabric

About the role

The QA Specialist will focus on testing and validating Power BI reports, semantic models, and Microsoft Fabric data pipelines. The role ensures data accuracy, reliability, and performance across the analytics environment for Atlas Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute QA strategies for Power BI reports, ETL pipelines, and Fabric data workflows.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, data migration, and user‑acceptance testing.
• Validate Power BI Service features such as navigation, permissions, RLS, filters, drill‑through, refresh, and usability.
• Reconcile Power BI outputs with SQL/Fabric backend data and conduct root‑cause analysis across the full data pipeline.
• Test Fabric pipelines, Lakehouse/Warehouse data, notebooks, and ETL/ELT transformations using SQL, PySpark/Spark SQL, and Databricks.
• Design reusable automated validation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CT pipelines.
• Document test cases, defects, evidence, and QA metrics while collaborating with analysts, developers, and data engineers.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in Power BI and data‑analytics QA.
• Deep knowledge of Power BI Service, DAX, semantic models, and report validation.
• Proficiency in SQL and backend data reconciliation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT testing, data quality principles, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Ability to design and maintain automated testing frameworks.
