Production Technician - Locomotive

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Production Technician to support locomotive manufacturing in India. You will coordinate daily production activities, ensure quality and safety, and train Indian Railway staff on assembly processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily loading plans aligned with the overall production schedule to meet target output.
• Participate in standing meetings to review progress and plan weekly/monthly production targets.
• Implement daily production activities, resolve on‑site challenges, and maintain uninterrupted workflow.
• Provide daily production updates to the Production Manager, highlighting metrics versus targets.
• Ensure first‑time‑right production through rigorous quality control and rapid issue mitigation.
• Acquire hands‑on locomotive production skills and deliver comprehensive training to Indian Railway staff.
• Rotate job assignments to develop on‑the‑job skills across key manufacturing processes.
• Supervise Indian Railway personnel, organize workflow, and monitor performance.
• Hand over fully assembled locomotives to the testing team on schedule, meeting quality and cost requirements.
• Maintain assembly flow, allocate job cards, and enforce EHS best practices throughout the plant.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably rail or locomotive.
• Ability to supervise and train a diverse workforce.
• Strong focus on quality assurance and safety compliance.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to work onsite in an industrial setting.
