Production Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Production Operator to join the BASF Catalysts plant in Chennai. You will be responsible for meeting shift production targets while ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve shift production output by operating at optimal cycle times and maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Plan and execute product changeovers and machine setups within targeted times, minimizing downtime.
• Monitor process capability (Cp/Cpk) and sustain required levels through parameter control and corrective actions.
• Reconcile slurry consumption with coated parts production and maintain accurate material‑to‑output mapping.
• Continuously improve machine cycle time and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through waste elimination and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, follow 3C & 5S best practices, and ensure proper labeling and packing of products.
• Comply with PPE requirements, use LOTO during changeovers and breakdowns, and report near‑misses or unsafe conditions.
• Participate in risk assessments, support corrective‑action implementation, and contribute to achieving customer recognition.

Required profile

• Diploma (any discipline) with 2‑5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work in shifts and follow standard operating procedures.
