Production Manager – Paper Converting & Packaging

About the role

Xolopak India Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations of its paper converting and packaging lines in Pune. The role covers spoon paper wrapping, laminated cake base, silver pouch production and POS roll slitting, ensuring on‑time output, quality and safety while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and run daily production across spoon paper wrapping, laminated cake base, silver pouch and POS roll slitting lines to meet order commitments.
• Build and lead shift‑wise teams of machine operators, technicians, electricians and line supervisors, ensuring adequate manning and cross‑training.
• Manage machine‑wise output and efficiency, reduce changeover time, downtime and oversee preventive maintenance.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs, work instructions and process parameters for each product line; conduct periodic audits.
• Monitor and control key process parameters such as lamination bond strength, wrapping seal integrity, pouch barrier quality, slitting width tolerance and roll winding quality.
• Own quality outcomes in coordination with QA/QC, including in‑process checks, rejection/rework tracking and root‑cause corrective actions.
• Plan raw material and packing material requirements, coordinate procurement and manage inventory to avoid line stoppages.
• Track yield, wastage and rejection percentages; drive initiatives to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Work closely with machine suppliers and OEMs for installation, commissioning, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Estimate production costs, prepare and manage the production budget, and report on output, efficiency, wastage and cost per unit to senior management.
• Enforce health, safety and housekeeping standards on the shop floor and ensure compliance with food‑industry regulations.

Required profile

• Experienced Production Manager with proven experience in paper converting or packaging manufacturing.
• Ability to lead multi‑skill shift teams and drive cross‑training.
• Strong knowledge of SOPs, preventive maintenance and quality management systems.
• Experience in raw material planning, inventory control and procurement coordination.
• Familiarity with cost estimation, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Commitment to health, safety and food‑industry compliance.
