Production Executive - Precious Metal Catalysts

About the role

BASF India is hiring a Production Executive for its Multi Product Plant in Mangalore. The role leads shift activities, supports the Plant Manager and his deputy, and manages the production of Precious Metal Catalysts where value, quality, consistency and security must be carefully monitored. It is a permanent, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift activities and ensure documentation of plant processes and activities according to BASF standards
• Coach and mentor production officers, operators and workmen, and drive operational and organizational discipline
• Monitor production batches against log sheets and key process control parameters, acting on deviations
• Support production targets, coordinate with the supply chain for raw material receipt, and rationalise the production plan
• Review and validate production data and reports to support production accounting
• Audit processes on all shifts, document findings in logbooks and records, and manage maintenance, backlogs and preventive maintenance (including vessel inspections)
• Manage Precious Metal Catalysts production if assigned, and provide technical support for plant trials
• Define and document operating files, SOPs, emergency SOPs, records and technical files, and support annual recertification
• Act as Safety Representative for EHS, support LEAN and Operational Excellence, and follow the onsite emergency response plan

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Sc. (Tech.) / B.Sc. / M.Sc. or Diploma in Chemical Engineering
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Demonstrated plant experience in continuous improvement, problem solving, high-volume part manufacturing, ergonomics, lean principles, control plans and process control, and mechanical aptitude
• Good knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
• Ability to work with operators and management and influence indirect resource groups
