Product Application Engineer – Fluid Conveyance

About the role

As a Product Application Engineer you will design and deliver customized hydraulic fluid‑conveyance solutions that meet specific customer requirements while aligning with Danfoss product capabilities. You will translate customer needs into technically sound proposals across hoses, fittings, adapters, and couplings, ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and rapid turnaround.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple product‑application projects, interpreting specifications and defining optimal configurations.
• Create engineering documentation, CAD drawings (Pro‑E Wildfire5 / AutoCAD), and coordinate prototype development.
• Resolve design issues for customers and internal stakeholders, applying GD&T and strong mathematical analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, marketing, PLM (Enovia), and cross‑functional teams on design changes, tolerance stack‑ups, and project priorities.
• Utilise Six Sigma (LEAN, DMAIC, DFSS) and problem‑solving techniques to improve product accuracy and documentation quality.
• Mentor team members, share best‑practice processes, and continuously enhance specification interpretation.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of experience in hydraulics or fluid‑conveyance, preferably in application engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering from a recognised institute.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate, customer‑specific technical solutions.

Required skills

• Pro/Engineer (Pro‑E) and AutoCAD proficiency.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Six Sigma methodologies (LEAN, DMAIC, DFSS).
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Enovia.
• Domain knowledge in hydraulics and fluid conveyance systems.
