Procurement & Sourcing Manager

About the role

The Procurement & Sourcing Manager will lead all contracting and procurement activities for our solar value chain, ensuring maximum value is extracted from suppliers while meeting business objectives. This role requires strong negotiation, contract management, and cost‑saving expertise in a fast‑paced, start‑up environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contracting and procurement efforts to maximize supplier value.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements for the solar value chain, ensuring compliance with laws and protection against breaches.
• Plan, source, purchase, and execute purchase orders in a cost‑effective manner.
• Manage order management, spares inventory, service contracts, and manpower contracts to guarantee timely delivery.
• Oversee scrap reconciliation and disposal through auction per group governance.
• Resolve day‑to‑day supply‑chain and procurement issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Handle the full purchasing cycle: RFQ, PO creation, follow‑up, receipt, billing, and forecasting.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives across manufacturing lines and other areas.
• Analyse purchasing trends to identify savings and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships for timely, competitive delivery.
• Monitor compliance with procurement policies and maintain performance metrics.
• Manage the procurement budget within approved limits and ensure legal and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Up to 6 years of experience in procurement and sourcing.
• Experience with forward and reverse auction processes.
• Experience setting up a new procurement team is highly desirable.
• Strong negotiation and contract‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑starter attitude with the ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment.

Required skills

• SAP MM module knowledge and hands‑on SAP experience.
• Understanding of indirect taxation and GST.
• Forward auction and reverse auction expertise.
