Principal Verification Engineer, Digital IP

About the role

NXP's MCU/MPU Engineering team, part of the MME Digital IP group, develops SoC design solutions for Automotive, IoT, Networking and RF products. This Principal Verification Engineer role is based in Bengaluru and focuses on pre-silicon verification of IP modules and IP subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Pre-silicon verification of IP modules or IP subsystems
• Define and write IP verification plans based on requirements documents (industry standards, product requirements, IP architecture and implementation specs)
• Interface with HW, FW and SW design teams, as well as architecture and system engineering teams, to understand the IP's functionality and application
• Execute the verification plan according to product specifications and verification requirements set by product architects
• Architect, develop, debug and run UVM-based verification environments for RTL simulation
• Create test cases, stimulus and assertions, run simulations and regression, and collect and analyse code and functional coverage

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• 10+ years of experience in IP/sub-system verification
• Proven experience designing and developing testbenches using UVM for IP, subsystem and SoC
• Experience debugging designs pre- and post-silicon, in simulation and on the bench
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Advanced knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, C/C++ and Shell
• Metric-driven verification, functional and code coverage
• Directed and constrained random methodologies
• Formal verification and assertions
• Perl, TCL or Python scripting is a plus
