Principal / Sr Principal Backend Engineer

About the role

Endor Labs is looking for a senior technical leader to architect and build the core backend infrastructure for its SaaS security platform. You will drive large‑scale projects, ensure system scalability, reliability and performance, and mentor a distributed engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop the core backend services that power Endor Labs’ SaaS products.
• Lead large‑scale technical projects, making critical architectural decisions and delivering high‑impact features.
• Design, build, and ship end‑to‑end features in close collaboration with product management and engineering.
• Promote innovation by evaluating and adopting cutting‑edge technologies.
• Represent the team in external technical forums, conferences and open‑source communities.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering best practices and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 18+ years of experience building scalable back‑ends for product/SaaS companies.
• Strong track record of leading and delivering complex technical projects.
• Proficiency in Golang (preferred) and experience with other modern backend languages.
• Hands‑on experience designing APIs using gRPC, REST, GraphQL or Thrift.
• Deep understanding of micro‑services, domain‑driven design, load balancing, horizontal/vertical scaling and stateless architectures.
• Excellent problem‑solving, debugging, communication and leadership abilities.
