Principal Engineer – HVAC (MEP)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Engineer‑HVAC (MEP) to join our Building Engineering team in India. This role offers the chance to work on impactful building and planning projects across global offices while developing technical expertise in a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections.
• Provide input to engineering budget and schedule development.
• Lead HVAC system design for complex commercial, residential, and data‑center projects.
• Conduct energy modeling and analysis to optimize system performance.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines for integrated design solutions.
• Develop and implement sustainable design strategies to meet energy efficiency goals.
• Oversee selection and sizing of HVAC equipment and components.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and other regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and verify installations.

Required profile

• Master of Engineering (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• 10–15 years of experience in HVAC design, including retail and hospitality projects.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, CIBSE, and NFPA standards.
• Experience on commercial, residential, data‑center, and infrastructure projects in the USA, Canada, and ANZ regions.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
• Proficiency with HVAC design software and BIM tools.
