Principal Auditor – APAC & MEA Fungible Audit Team

About the role

The Principal Auditor will join the Group Audit function of a leading bank, providing independent, risk‑based assurance across the APAC & MEA region. Based in Mumbai, you will work on a variety of audit assignments, thematic reviews and finding validations, supporting the bank’s third line of defence.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake audits, finding validations and thematic reviews aligned with regional and portfolio priorities.
• Support audit planning by understanding business processes, products, risks, controls and regulatory requirements.
• Document activity flows, identify key risks and controls, and develop testing approaches.
• Execute audit testing in line with the approved audit programme, Group Audit methodology and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the Principal Audit Manager, Lead Principal Auditors and subject‑matter experts to deliver comprehensive assurance.

Required profile

• Strong audit experience within banking or financial services.
• Ability to assess risks, evaluate controls and produce evidence‑based conclusions.
• Willingness to work across multiple jurisdictions in APAC and MEA.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
