Pre-Underwriting Analyst – Granite

About the role

The Pre-Underwriting Analyst supports Altisource’s mortgage and real‑estate operations by reviewing construction documents, assessing contractor information, and evaluating project feasibility. The role works closely with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate underwriting decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough reviews of construction documents and prepare detailed recommendation reports.
• Follow up with clients to collect missing documents and ensure a smooth approval process.
• Analyze contractor budgets and contracts for suitability on residential projects.
• Verify contractor credentials by assessing past performance, financial stability, and risk factors.
• Identify potential risks related to insurance coverage, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
• Make informed recommendations on contractor approvals, denials, or required conditions.
• Evaluate project feasibility by reviewing plans, budgets, contracts, appraisals, and surveys against loan amounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Excellent written communication with accurate grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to read and respond to client emails following business etiquette.
• Excellent verbal communication in fluent English with a neutral accent.
• Strong analytical and cognitive skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm and ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
