Play Pal – Fun Consultant for Hamleys

About the role

As a Play Pal at Hamleys, you will be the friendly face that welcomes families and creates memorable play experiences for children aged 2‑8. You will work on the shop floor, ensuring every visitor feels the magic of the Hamleys brand while supporting store performance.

Key responsibilities

• Warmly greet and engage customers, turning first impressions into lasting loyalty.
• Guide children through interactive play zones, demonstrating toys and encouraging imaginative play.
• Maintain store ambience and visual standards in line with Hamleys brand guidelines.
• Contribute to achieving daily and weekly store KPIs, including sales and customer satisfaction targets.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver award‑winning service and share feedback for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 2‑4+ years of experience in retail, hospitality, activity centres, or pre‑school environments.
• Passion for working with young children and ability to communicate with them effectively.
• Positive, energetic personality with a strong focus on customer delight.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting team goals.

Required skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow brand and store guidelines.
• Basic understanding of retail operations, stock handling, and merchandising.
