Planning Engineer – 400kV+ Transmission & Substation Projects (PMC)

About the role

The Planning Engineer will act as the PMC planning representative for high‑voltage transmission line and substation packages. You will develop, monitor and control integrated project schedules while coordinating closely with contractors, client teams and internal disciplines to ensure timely execution.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor WBS, baseline schedules, activity logic, durations, calendars, constraints, milestones and resource loading.
• Develop and maintain integrated schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, energisation and handover.
• Establish progress measurement methods based on BOQ, Schedule of Values, contractual milestones and verified site quantities.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and look‑ahead schedules, S‑curves, resource histograms and milestone trackers.
• Verify contractor‑reported physical progress against actual site records and coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams.
• Monitor critical and near‑critical paths, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions, recovery schedules and acceleration measures.
• Support extension‑of‑time and delay claim assessments through event chronology, contemporaneous records and schedule‑impact analysis.
• Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, schedule narratives, risk registers and project forecasts for management review.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of hands‑on planning/project‑controls experience on 400 kV+ transmission line and/or substation projects.
• Proven ability to review and challenge contractor schedules, validate baseline programmes and reconcile reported progress with actual site conditions.
• Willingness to work on any of the listed locations (Kutch, Jamnagar, Mumbai, Pune) based on project requirements.
