Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy (Full-time)

About the role

Atlas Eye Hospital is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Pharmacist to support the medication needs of patients and clinical teams in its Palakkad location. The role involves accurate dispensing, prescription verification, patient counseling, and collaboration with ophthalmologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure safe and effective pharmacotherapy.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and verify prescriptions for appropriateness and safety.
• Maintain pharmacy documentation, stock levels, and conduct regular expiry and storage condition checks.
• Counsel patients on correct medication usage, potential side effects, and answer queries.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and formulary guidelines.
• Coordinate with physicians and nurses to optimise pharmacotherapy and support clinical decisions.
• Participate in quality‑and‑safety initiatives and assist with billing and inventory processes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations and safe dispensing practices.
• Excellent communication skills for clear medication counseling and patient education.
• Attention to detail in prescription verification, documentation and inventory management.
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations, formulary management and regulatory compliance.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (D.Pharm / B.Pharm) with a valid pharmacy registration/license; basic computer proficiency for hospital information systems.
