Packaging Process Operator

About the role

The Packaging Process Operator is responsible for running and maintaining automated equipment in the packing area of a food manufacturing plant. The role ensures accurate hourly documentation, strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and a clean, hygienic work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain automated process equipment in the packaging area.
• Record production data on an hourly basis and keep all required records up to date.
• Follow all policies, work instructions, SOPs and cGMP requirements.
• Maintain hygiene and food‑safety standards for the equipment and work area.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimise downtime.
• Deliver batches according to upstream process requirements to meet delivery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with EHS rules, report incidents or near‑misses, and wear required PPE.
• Participate in safety training, medical surveillance and STOP observations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce energy, water use and waste in the work area.
