Operations Planner

About the role

ABB is looking for an Operations Planner to join its Smart Building Business in Bangalore. The role supports the Supply Chain Operations function by managing production planning, demand, capacity and inventory to ensure on‑time delivery and high service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute master production schedules and short‑to‑medium‑term plans aligned with demand forecasts, capacity constraints and inventory policies.
• Translate demand signals into prioritized production schedules, support cross‑functional capacity planning and optimise inventory levels across plants and distribution centres.
• Monitor and report planning KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turns, schedule attainment and plan‑versus‑actual performance.
• Facilitate S&OP meetings, resolve constraints and align stakeholders.
• Utilise ERP/MRP, APS, Excel, SQL and BI tools for planning simulations, root‑cause analysis and dashboard creation.
• Drive automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives in the planning process.
• Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, support new product introductions and maintain planning master data (BOMs, routings, lead times).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in production planning and control.
• Collaborative, detail‑oriented professional with strong documentation habits.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
