Operations Lead – Transport, Gardening & Facility Management

About the role

The Operations Lead will oversee all transport, gardening, housekeeping and ancillary services for a large manufacturing site. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures smooth daily operations, compliance with statutory requirements and strong liaison with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor overall transport administration, including employee bus services, company‑owned vehicles and hired taxis.
• Coordinate gardening activities in partnership with the horticulturist and maintain related contractor records.
• Oversee housekeeping services across the site, ensuring proper record‑keeping and contractor management.
• Manage mail‑distribution, courier services and overall site infrastructure maintenance.
• Ensure acquisition, renewal and compliance of all licences and permits with government bodies such as Factory Inspectorate, MIDC, MSEB, MPCB and local gram panchayat.
• Maintain effective public relations with statutory authorities and assist in preparation of legal documents for employee travel, foreign bonds and passports.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in any discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 6‑12 years of experience in administration of large manufacturing sites.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with SAP for budgeting and reporting.
• Ability to prepare and manage budgets.
