NVH Engineer – Tire & Vehicle Noise Specialist

About the role

The NVH Engineer will join Goodyear’s Global Performance and Simulations – NVH team at the Technology Center in Hyderabad. The role supports tire and technology development projects by investigating noise, vibration and harshness, conducting experiments, and processing data to improve product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage tire/vehicle testing and simulation tools to de‑risk NVH performance in consumer tire development.
• Collaborate with tire design teams, providing analysis and recommendations to meet NVH targets.
• Identify root causes of NVH issues, develop counter‑measures and document findings in technical reports.
• Implement advanced laboratory and on‑vehicle testing, and apply innovative NVH analysis methods.
• Support virtual tire development using FEA and data‑driven prediction technologies.
• Engage with vehicle OEMs to shape virtual tire/vehicle development processes.
• Share knowledge with global NVH team members and contribute to globalization efforts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive or Aerospace engineering with a focus on NVH or acoustics.
• 3‑5 years of professional experience in vehicle noise, vibration or uniformity assessment.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of structural dynamics and acoustics.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as Abaqus, Nastran or Ansys.
• NVH data acquisition and analysis software (HEAD acoustics HBK, Siemens/LMS).
• Programming in MATLAB and Python.
• Statistical analysis tools (JMP, Minitab).
• Vibration and acoustic instrumentation, signal processing, and data analysis.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
