Mechanical System Installation Engineer (Landing Gear)

About the role

The Mechanical System Installation Engineer will lead landing‑gear modification projects, overseeing design, verification, certification and installation activities. The role requires close collaboration with suppliers and multiple internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of high‑quality mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier modification proposals and define verification and validation criteria.
• Interact with stakeholders to develop and manage MOD Statements of Work (SoW) and project plans.
• Review supplier engineering documentation, including design, qualification, certification and maintenance records.
• Assist signatories in engineering documentation reviews and support release processes.
• Conduct continuous follow‑ups to ensure adherence to timelines and manage technical and schedule risks.
• Develop engineering documentation required for certification and deliver quality, team and project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years overall experience, with at least 3 years in mechanical/hydro‑mechanical/electro‑mechanical component design.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5) for 3D modeling and validation.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for structural analysis.
• Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Testing.
• Validation and verification planning.
• Configuration and change management.
• Design review processes and product development lifecycle (design, qualification, testing, release).
• MS Office suite, including MS Project for project planning.
