Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will ensure the reliability and integrity of all mechanical equipment in the plant. The role involves overseeing predictive and preventive maintenance activities while adhering to safety policies, company guidelines and allocated budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct day‑to‑day mechanical maintenance following all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures.
• Support the creation of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules in coordination with Production, Technology and CES teams.
• Create resourcing plans to handle routine maintenance and planned shutdown jobs.
• Collect mechanical discipline data, monitor performance against KPIs and present corrective actions to senior maintenance leadership.
• Develop and obtain approval for inventory control plans for mechanical spares, issue spares for job execution and assist with procurement follow‑up.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance cost and budgeting reports and analyse utilisation.
• Execute and supervise mechanical maintenance tasks ensuring quality, safety and timely completion.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise production and quality losses.
• Analyse equipment condition, monitor performance trends and implement actions to improve availability.
• Carry out preservation activities as scheduled and manage the execution of shutdown jobs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment.
• Ability to follow established policies, processes and standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with maintenance planning, KPI monitoring and performance reporting.
• Capability to coordinate with production, technology, stores and procurement teams.
• Strong analytical skills for equipment condition assessment and trend analysis.
