Mechanical Engineer – Plumbing, Heating & Fire (MEP)

About the role

Join AECOM in Gurugram as an Engineer focused on Plumbing, Heating & Fire (MEP) systems. You will design plumbing and fire‑fighting solutions for data centres, healthcare facilities, retail and hospitality projects, using Revit and complying with international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specific portions of broader engineering assignments, gathering and correlating basic data.
• Execute detailed engineering tasks, including calculations and simple tests, while proposing modifications to standard procedures.
• Provide guidance to entry‑level engineers and ensure work aligns with budget and schedule.
• Independently complete primary design elements for engineering works and conduct quality‑control reviews of calculations or drawings.
• Collaborate on projects across multiple sectors, ensuring compliance with NFPA, ME and IPC codes.

Required profile

• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with 3‑6 years of relevant experience in GDC‑type environments.
• Proven experience in plumbing and fire‑fighting design, preferably in data‑center, healthcare, retail or hospitality projects.
• Strong familiarity with Revit and awareness of international codes such as NFPA, ME codes and IPC.
• Exposure to projects across the Middle East, USA, Canada or ANZ regions and knowledge of ASHRAE/CIBSE standards.
