Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance & Reliability

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead maintenance and reliability activities for our aerospace aluminium alloy production facility. The role focuses on ensuring high equipment availability, controlling maintenance costs, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and control preventive, predictive and overhaul activities to maximise equipment uptime.
• Analyse breakdowns, PM slippage and maintenance trends; implement techniques such as FMEA, RCM and conditional maintenance.
• Optimize resource utilisation, reduce spare‑part costs through import substitution and life‑value analysis, and manage inventory using JIT principles.
• Lead improvement projects to enhance equipment efficiency and quality.
• Develop multi‑skilled teams through training, delegation and counseling.
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within heavy‑industry or aerospace environments.
• Strong ability to plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Experience in cost optimisation, spare‑part management and inventory control.
• Leadership skills to train and develop technical staff.
• Commitment to safety, hygiene and environmental standards.
