MBIST Diagnostics Engineer - Sr Staff/Staff Engineer

About the role

Qualcomm India is looking for an experienced MBIST Diagnostics Engineer to lead the development of advanced memory diagnostic methodologies and tools for next‑generation SoCs. The role focuses on DRAM testing, failure analysis, and AI/ML‑based pattern recognition to boost memory yield and reliability in high‑volume manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance memory diagnostic methodologies, including DRAM‑specific diagnostics.
• Define and implement memory test and repair algorithms such as BIRA, ECC, and redundancy analysis.
• Isolate failing memory locations, analyze failure signatures, and support yield improvement, RMA, and HTOL debug.
• Design AI/ML‑based pattern‑recognition tools for advanced bit‑mapping and failure characterization.
• Collaborate with silicon validation, product engineering, and yield analysis teams to correlate diagnostics with silicon behavior.
• Drive innovation in diagnostic algorithms for future technology nodes and memory architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years (Bachelor’s), 5+ years (Master’s) or 4+ years (PhD) of hardware engineering experience.
• 8+ years of experience in memory diagnostics, DRAM test, and failure analysis in advanced SoC environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and data‑driven mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a global, cross‑functional setting.

Required skills

• Python, Perl, TCL scripting.
• Data visualization and analytics tools.
• AI/ML techniques for pattern recognition or data analytics.
• Experience with HTOL, RMA debug, high‑volume manufacturing diagnostics.
• Knowledge of memory redundancy, error correction, self‑repair mechanisms.
• Implementation of MBIST solutions using tools such as Mentor Tessent or Synopsys.
