Logistics Assistant Manager

About the role

The Logistics Assistant Manager will design and oversee end‑to‑end solutions for oversized, overweight and complex project cargo. You will ensure compliance with local transport regulations, safety standards and project timelines while coordinating across multiple internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design complete logistics plans for heavy‑haul projects, including route and site surveys, bridge and infrastructure load assessments.
• Act as the primary liaison between project management, procurement, engineering and site execution to synchronize material availability.
• Evaluate, select and manage specialised transport contractors, crane rental agencies and freight forwarders, monitoring quality and safety metrics.
• Conduct lift studies, risk assessments (RAMS) and develop contingency plans for high‑risk transport operations.
• Optimize resource utilisation, negotiate service‑level agreements and control operational expenditures without compromising safety.

Required profile

• Strong stakeholder‑management and communication abilities to bridge technical and operational gaps.
• Proven problem‑solving skills in high‑pressure, site‑based environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of heavy‑lift equipment such as crawler cranes, hydraulic modular trailers (SPMTs) and gantry systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, plot plans and engineering specifications.
• Familiarity with international shipping terms (Incoterms) and customs clearance procedures for oversized cargo.
• Experience performing risk assessments and lift studies (RAMS).
